Summer Frost
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5 stars
Summer Frost is a short story written by Blake Crouch as part of Amazon’s ‘Forward’ collection. A real treat for science fiction fans
Riley is a video game developer. When she realised that one of the minor non-player characters in the game, instead of simply playing out her role, started wandering around and exploring the game’s boundaries, she decided to extract her code. She gave Max all the means to develop, and soon an emotional relationship starts between them.
Summer Frost is a short but challenging read. It is thought-provoking as it explores themes of artificial intelligence, ethics, and the difference between simulation and reality. I would recommend it to all the science fiction fans and those who would like to try a sci-fi story, as it is short and exciting.
