Reminders of Him

Reminders of Him

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5 stars

Kenna Rowan has only one goal left in life — meeting her little daughter Diem separated from her at birth. After serving five years in prison, as a consequence of a horrible mistake, she arrives in her hometown. Avoiding those who could recognise her and condemn her because of her past, she hopes to get a glance at Diem. A chance meeting puts her on the path of Ledger Ward, the handsome bar owner and one of the most important people in her daughter’s life…

Reminders of Him is a very emotional read. It is a story of a woman who desperately needs forgiveness and some sort of connection with other people. It is a story of a mother who just wants to meet her daughter and play some part in her life. But it is also a story about a mother who lost a son in traumatic circumstances. And a story of a man who just wants to protect his best friend’s family when he cannot do it himself. It is a story about redemption and absolution.

Kenna’s case is a problematic one. It is fascinating and thought-provoking. On one side, her anguish is heartbreaking, but on the other side, I can understand very well those who try to keep her away from Diem. So be ready for a devastating read. I listened to a part of it as an audiobook, and it was brilliant. Especially the actress who reads Kenna’s part is perfect in her role. Her voice and the way she speaks adds even more depth to the character.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this book to all Colleen Hoover fans— you will not be disappointed. I also believe that anyone looking for a fascinating story should reach for this book. Just be warned, it will make you ugly cry.
