My Evil Mother

My Evil Mother

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5 stars

A funny and intelligent short story from Margaret Atwood.

The narrator of the story was raised up by her controversial single mother. Abandoned by her husband and scorned by all the neighbours, she led an extraordinary life full of herbs and magic. The narrator described her difficult relationship with the mother that was called crazy and evil by everyone around. And she did everything to maintain the image…

My Evil Mother is a well-written short story, just the way you would expect from Margaret Atwood. The most interesting feature is definitely the way narration change, as the main character grows up. I recommend this story to everyone.
