Love on the Brain

Love on the Brain

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5 stars

Bee Köningswasser, an aspiring neuroscientist, has just landed a leading position in NASA’s new project. This would be a dream come true if it wasn’t for the fact that her co-lead is no one else but Levi Ward. Tall, dark and handsome, Levi has been Bee’s archenemy since grad school. When it becomes clear that the project might be suspended, they have to work together as a team…

Love on the Brain is a second novel by the author of Love Hypothesis. We find a strangely familiar background of science, conferences and misogynistic academia here. Which is precisely what I love in Ali Hazelwood’s stories. We encounter two new characters who only slightly resemble Olive and Adam. Bee seems way stronger and more confident, which I really liked, but that also means that the romantic part of the plot proceeds at a faster pace. Those who complained that Love Hypothesis wasn’t spicy enough should be satisfied by the changes. Me? I think I rather liked the prolonged suspense.
